Liu Institute for Global Issues presents a Tribute to Dr. George Povey

Dr. George Povey is a longtime friend and colleague who has worked with Health Alliance International staff since the late 1970s. He helped found HAI (when it was still the Mozambique Health Committee) and was on the original Board of Directors. In the 1990s Dr. Povey worked for HAI in both East Timor and Mozambique. He is the esteemed namesake behind HAI's "George Povey Award" given annually to honor the work by our colleagues and friends that best exemplifies the dedication that George has shown to the global health field in his lifetime of achievement.
On April 9th, at 5pm, the Liu Institute for Global Issues at the University of British Columbia in Vancouver will present a tribute to Dr. Povey to honor his lifetime of contributions to the field. If you are interested in attending, please visit the LIGI web site for further event details.
