Public Rural Health Site - CSR Afotobo
A few weeks ago, on a grey and rainy Wednesday, a group of HAI-CI staff (including Dr. Olivier Ble and Julia Robinson) traveled to a public rural health site, CSR Afotobo, in the region of Gbeke, to try to better understand how health care is delivered.
They were especially interested to hear about how health workers organize their services to ensure that HIV-positive moms receive the support and medication they need to prevent the transmission of the virus to their babies.
The team was welcomed with open arms by three incredibly dedicated staff members (a nurse, a midwife, and a community health worker) who work together closely at the health facility to deliver quality care and support to all patients, and especially people living with HIV and their families.
The findings combined with results from HAI's program in Mozambique and CFAR’s program in Kenya will help improve the technical support we provide to Ministries of Health.
