Mozambique – Reproductive and Child Health

In Mozambique, we work with the Ministry of Health to develop integrated antenatal care services. These data reflect the fact that an increasing number of women in Manica and Sofala provinces are receiving a comprehensive set of services when they come in for antenatal care.

  • 150,588 - number of unique antenatal care visits in one year*
  • 165,133 - number of pregnant women tested for HIV in antenatal care clinics
  • 149,554 - number of pregnant women tested for syphilis
  • 118,089 - number of pregnant women who received at least one does of Intermittent Preventive Treatment for malaria
  • 120,557 - number of pregnant women who received bed nets

*First two points are from Oct 2008 - Sept 2009; remaining data are from the period Jan - Dec 2009
